Our trip to Araiteuru Marae

On Tuesday we travelled by bus to Araiteuru Marae in Wakari. We were welcomed in by the Tangata Whenua with a powhiri. Mrs Spencer did a great job as our kaikaranga.
Here are a few photos that show some of the things we did during the day.

 We played traditional Maori musical instruments.

We looked at interesting carvings throughout the marae and wharenui.

 We used harakeke to weave fish (ika).
