Highlanders!

In Room 9, we have been following the Lion's tour of New Zealand, and predicting scores of the game. Before the Highlanders game on Tuesday night, Miss Costello (our College Teacher) gave us all a Highlander's flag to help us support them. These were kindly donated by the Otago Football Union. Thank you Miss Costello for organising these for us.

Go the mighty Highlanders!

Poetry Presentations

Next week we will be presenting our poems to the rest of the class. Don't forget to keep practising for this. Remember that your poem should start with an introduction that ...

    - introduces yourself
    - states the name of the poem and the author
    - writes a sentence (or two) about why you have chosen this poem

For example;

"Good morning Room 9. My name is Mrs Wood and I am going to share the poem 'Red Riding Hood' by Roald Dahl. I chose this poem because I like the rhythm of the words. The poet has written it in a way that you can add expression to your voice. I think it is entertaining to read aloud."

Our final football session

Today we had our final football coaching session with Football South. We got to practise all of our skills in a game.

No homework this week

Dear Room 9 Parents,

Due to it being a short week of school (Queen's Birthday), there is no set homework this week. However, please encourage children to keep reading daily. Also, e-ako is a great place to go for some extra math work.
