Dress-up day!
Next Friday (25th August) we will be holding a dress-up day. Each class is able to choose their own theme for this day. We have decided to have the theme of 'Book or Movie Characters'. Hopefully, this will mean that we have lots of different ideas to choose from.
Instead of a gold coin, could you please bring along a prize that could be used for the upcoming fair. This could be chocolates or sweet treats. Thank you in advance, for your help with this day.
Fair Working Bee
Tomorrow (Saturday the 19th of August), there will be a working bee held at the school to help organise some things for the upcoming school fair. If you are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated. It will be at the school from 1 - 3pm.
Distinction Awards - ICAS
Congratulations Adrian! Adrian received an ICAS distinction award for both spelling and science today at assembly. This means that he tested in the top 10% of children that sat the test. Way to go - we are very proud of you!

Consideration
This term we have been discussing the value of 'Consideration'. We have been brainstorming lots of different ways that we can show consideration at school, and at home.
We have lots of ideas written up on our wall display. We are going to check throughout the term to see if we have been doing some of these things.
Have you been spotted showing consideration?

The P.T.A are still desperately short of helpers for the upcoming School Fair. If you are able to donate a few hours of your time, it would be greatly appreciated.
The Fair raises a lot of money for the school (the funds are going towards playground equipment), but it can only be successful when we have parent support.
If you are available to help, please place your name on the sign-up boards that are in the foyer of the school office. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Our trip to Araiteuru Marae
On Tuesday we travelled by bus to Araiteuru Marae in Wakari. We were welcomed in by the Tangata Whenua with a powhiri. Mrs Spencer did a great job as our kaikaranga.
Here are a few photos that show some of the things we did during the day.
