Hockey lessons started today

We are having hockey lessons on a Monday for the next few weeks. Today we learnt to hold the hockey stick correctly and to push and trap a ball.

Principal Awards

Today Milly and Sam got to go up on the stage to get their Principal Awards. Mrs Robertson shook their hands, as Mr Galloway was away.

Teaching kindness to aliens

If aliens come to Earth what would you tell them about kindness? This is what we contemplated - how would you describe kindness? How could you show kindness?

We created a display all about this. Come into our classroom to read some of our ideas.

Kindness Acrostic Poems

Mother's Day Truffles

We hope that all our Mum's had a wonderful Mother's Day. We had a lot of fun making your special truffles!

Learning about vertices and edges with marshmallows and toothpicks

Today we made some 3D shapes with marshmallows and toothpicks. The edges of the shape were the toothpicks, the corners were marshmallows. This made it really clear, how many vertices and edges each shape had (it was much easier than looking at it on a piece of paper!)

Today we started learning about 3-dimensional shapes. We discovered that they are all around us in everyday things. We made a paper pyramid that helped us to identify the different elements on a 3D shape - the edges, faces and vertices. 

All about bees!

Did you know that Evie has a beehive at her house. Today she taught us all about the process that honeybees go through to create the delicious spread that we put on our toast - honey!
We even got to taste some of Evie's bees honey!
